I personally have been oiling my scalp for about 3 months now, and I can tell a huge difference in my hair! Allow me to share my experience/research with you to help achieve your dream hair!

What does scalp oiling do? Scalp oiling provides moisture to the hair, which enhances shine. It can also soften the hair while providing vitamins and minerals that may get stripped from frequent washing.

How often should one oil their scalp? This question varies depending on hair texture and hair health. However, this is what I recommend for different hair types:

- someone with fine, dry hair~ maybe do once every 2 weeks

- someone with fine, oily hair~ maybe do once a month

- someone with coarse, dry hair~ maybe do once a week

Personally, I oil my scalp once a week. My hair is dry, and I wash my hair twice a week.

Will oiling my scalp make my scalp oily? This is the first question that comes to mind, right? The answer is no. If done correctly, scalp oiling will not cause your scalp to be oily.

What kind of oil do I use to oil my scalp? I have been using a Peony Oil, and it has worked great. However, I have seen many use a Rosemary oil, and it also seems to work great!

Scalp Oiling Instructions:

*Please Note: There are different ways to oil your scalp. This is just the way I have found to be convenient for myself and my hair!

1. Apply oil to scalp. (My oil has a dropper/syringe. I apply it throughout my entire scalp in seconds by squirting into subsections of the hair. This does not have to be perfect. A little goes a long way once you begin massaging.)

2. Massage oil into scalp. (They make scalp massagers, however, I use my fingertips and massage the oil into my scalp making sure it’s saturated well.)

3. Apply oil into mids/ends of hair. (This step may not be for everyone. My hair is dry, so I like to apply some oil to my mids/ends of my hair and brush through with my fingers.)

4. Clip your hair up and let sit for at least an hour. (I prefer to let mine sit for a couple hours.)

5. Once the oil has sat, shampoo hair like normal.

I can tell a huge difference in the softness of my hair, split ends, new growth, hair length, and the appearance of shine in my hair. Not everyone’s hair is the same. Feel free to chat and ask questions! I love hearing from everyone and want to help you achieve your dream hair!
